Relationships

In Dravidian Hindu Aaiyyanism we are all One. One with Brahman, One with Murugan, One with Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu. We are One with all beings. In this regard, in traditional Tantric Aaiyyanism of the Abhichaara School, there is no difference between man, woman, transgender and no gender. So in other words, this ritual can be carried out between a man and a woman, between a woman and a woman, between a man and a man, etc... It can also be carried out by people who are transgender or who identify as having no gender (such as some members of the S'uunya School).

The only stipulation is that both parties must be over the age of 25. This is because of the very powerful spiritual forces that are unleashed when you perform this ritual. Being under the required age is also considered spiritually dangerous as is performing other Tantric tasks (such as Summoning Demons). Conversely, it is said that the older the parties are, then the more powerful this Tantric ritual is, so High Aaiyyanists over the age of 50 are well skilled in these acts.

There is no age disparity between the sexes, i.e. a man, woman or transgender can be older or younger than their respective partner, though it is good practice to be of similar ages so that the resonance may match both parties. When the age of any partner is over the age of forty, then there is no issue in Dravidian Aaiyyanism having a partner that is older, e.g. in some sects of the Kaaryakartaa-Abhichaara Schools a woman over the age of 50 will perform the ritual with a man or woman over the age of 40.

There is also no constraint on the numbers of people participating in this ritual. Usually it is performed one on one (i.e. a couple) but there is scope for this to be performed with multiple parties (as in the Temple rituals) and this is addressed in the subsequent section on: Numbers.

You also do not need to be in a physical and emotional relationship with the person you perform the ritual with, i.e. you do not need to be married or have a relationship with them. In many Dravidian Kaaryakartaa-Abhichaara groups this ritual is performed between different partners on a daily/nightly basis.

You also do not need to be physically or mentally attracted to your partner, in fact some sub-Schools of the Abhichaara believe that unattraction makes for a greater resonance with specific Talas. You should let your own Aaiyyanist knowledge and experience dictate this and lead you.

Having said that, there is a specific visual appearance that the participants can adhere to and that has traditionally been adopted while performing this ritual. More details on this is given in the Appearance section.

As explained in earlier sections: during the Nirampetian and Odikamuyyan rituals, one party (the Assinayyanal) lays down on their front and the respective Yantra is traced onto their body by the other party (the Atankuyanal). The Assinayyanal then lies on their back and the Yantras are traced onto their front. By this stage, the sexual energy would have increased in the person and they are brought to orgasm via the Dravidian ritual of Petikantanaal which was also explained in earlier sections of this app.

The process is then repeated by both parties swapping. So the one that was laying down (the previous Assinayyanal) now performs the ritual for their partner (the previous Atankuyanal). If there are more than one party the details on how the rituals are performed are given in the later section titled: Numbers.
